Chris Harriman will be the highest-paid assistant on Nebraska men’s basketball coach Tim Miles’ staff, according to salary information obtained upon request by the Journal Star.
Harriman, the former Saint Louis assistant and the final staff member hired by Miles, will make $200,000 per year. Assistant Ben Johnson will make $185,000 and assistant Craig Smith will make $160,000.
The three assistant coaches will operate on two-year contracts, per terms of Miles’ contract.
Director of player development Ron Coleman’s annual salary is $115,000, while director of operations Jayden Olson will make $85,000.
The total salary pool of $745,000 for three assistants, plus Coleman and Olson, compares to $575,000 former coach Doc Sadler had for three assistants and one director of operations.
Sadler’s two highest-paid assistants were making $175,000 apiece.
For a second straight year, Nebraska’s high-paid assistant basketball coach will make more than three assistant football coaches (Rick Kaczenski, $195,000; Rich Fisher, $180,000; John Garrison, $160,000).
