New Nebraska commit D.J. Foster is among ESPN's Top 300 recruiting prospects in this class.
The Lincoln Southeast offensive lineman comes in at No. 249 on the list of recruits. He is rated a four-star prospect by the website.
Foster waited 14 months after receiving a Husker offer to commit to the homestate school on Saturday.
But as I wrote over the weekend, he was the one in-state kid Nebraska needed more than anyone -- for his potential and for perception.
And, oh yeah, he also happens to be the fifth Southeast player to commit to the Husker football program since 2010.
He joins athlete Luke Gifford as a Knight in this Husker class. Other recent Southeast products to earn scholarships with Nebraska include Sam Cotton in 2012, David Sutton in 2011 and Jake Cotton in 2010.
Asked about joining that club Saturday, Foster said: “It feels great to be able to say that I’m somebody from Southeast that’s going to Nebraska, and to be able to play out that tradition."
