Purdue will have a new starting quarterback when Nebraska visits in 10 days.

It is not the guy pictured above, although we can all agree that'd be fairly awesome. It is true freshman Danny Etling.

This was to be expected after the Boilermakers pulled the redshirt of Etling in a 55-24 loss to Northern Illinois this past Saturday.

Purdue beat writer Mike Carmin, of the Lafayette (Ind.) Journal and Courier, reported on Wednesday that Etling was going to take over the starting duties going forward.

The guy he replaces? That's Rob Henry. He's been moved to the secondary.

Etling came into this past Saturday's game in the second quarter, and ended up going 19-of-39 for two touchdowns and two interceptions, including a pick six.

Some might call it a bold move by first-year coach Darrell Hazell. An obvious move could be another description for a team that started 1-4 and needs a jolt.

Purdue's on a bye week this week, so Etling will have some extra time to prepare for the Huskers.

Will it be two freshmen quarterbacks starting that game? Perhaps.

But let's just see what happens around here during Illinois week first.
