Michael Pritchard, a key cog in Nebraska's success on the diamond this season, has landed with a MLB team.

"After a long week I'm proud to say I'm apart of the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here," Pritchard tweeted Saturday morning.

He also tweeted: "I couldn't have done it without a lot of people who believed in me enough to stick (their) necks out for me"

Pritchard was an excellent college player, especially at the plate. The fact he wasn't selected in last week's draft tells you a lot about the talent level needed to be a pro. He batted .314 as a senior with three home runs and 49 RBI, while smacking a team-leading 21 doubles.
