Big day for Nebraska basketball.

First Nick Fuller, now Nate Hawkins.

Both have given their oral commitments to play for the Huskers, becoming the first two members of the 2013 recruiting class for first-year coach Tim Miles.

Fuller, from Sun Prairie, Wis., and Hawkins, from Rowlett, Texas, were on campus for unofficial visits.

So was Omaha Central's Akoy Agau, who's made a couple of trips down I-80 this week.

“I talked to Akoy right away, and it seemed like he was really excited about me coming here,” Fuller said. “I don’t know (if he’ll choose Nebraska) but I know for sure that he’s pretty excited about Nebraska.”

Fuller, a 6-foot-7 shooting guard, arrived in Lincoln late Wednesday night for an unofficial visit.

Fuller had narrowed his choices to Nebraska and Minnesota. Illinois, Creighton, Marquette, Butler, Northern Iowa and Drake were among others who'd reportedly offered Fuller. He averaged 23 points and eight rebounds last season for Sun Prairie High School, and plays on the Wisconsin Swing AAU team.

Hawkins, meanwhile, had offers from Kansas State, Oklahoma State, UTEP and Lehigh, among others.
