You'd be hard-pressed to recall a Husker season where the offensive line has been so beaten up with injuries.

First there was the season-ender to Spencer Long. Then Jake Cotton went down. Then Jeremiah Sirles.

And now it appears the injury bug has found Mike Moudy, who left the practice field on Wednesday in street clothes, left arm in a sling.

Assistants don't comment on injuries so more specifics will have to wait until Bo Pelini gives them after Thursday's practice.

Barney Cotton is keeping a positive attitude despite the rash of injuries. He said he feels the Husker O-line is in about the same spot it was last week.

"The good thing is we entered this week with some depth, and we have some young guys that have stepped up. Really proud of the way (Zach) Sterup stepped up," Cotton said.

Sterup played 37 snaps at tackle after Jeremiah Sirles went down.

"We didn't miss a beat," Cotton said. "And we don't expect to miss a beat regardless of who's in there."
