Joe Ganz, who last season completed his second year as a Nebraska graduate assistant, will return for a third season, Husker head coach Bo Pelini said Thursday.
"It's a good deal for us," Pelini said.
Since the close of spring ball last month, there has been some discussion of whether Ganz would be back for 2014, the thought being he might take full-time work in another program.
A standout quarterback for Nebraska in 2007-08, Ganz also has worked at NU under the titles of "football intern" and "graduate manager."
He works extensively with Nebraska quarterbacks while assisting offensive coordinator Tim Beck in a variety of other roles.
A native of Palos Heights, Ill., Ganz ended his college playing career owning 23 school records, including season records for passing yards, completions and total offense, all set in 2008.
