New Nebraska head coach Scott Frost and his former Central Florida assistants -- most of whom are now working for him here -- are still expected to coach the Knights in Jan. 1's Peach Bowl, UCF athletic director Danny White said Tuesday.

Central Florida's hiring of Missouri offensive coordinator Josh Heupel as its new head coach on Tuesday did not change the school's plan for Husker head coach Scott Frost and his former UCF staff to coach the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1.

UCF athletic director Danny White reiterated during a news conference that the plan is for Frost and company to help with bowl preparations -- likely after a recruiting dead period begins Dec. 18 -- and coach the 10th-ranked team in Atlanta against No. 7 Auburn.

When Frost was introduced here Sunday, NU athletic director Bill Moos and system president Hank Bounds both said they were on board with that plan as long as it worked out for both schools.

Heupel told reporters in Orlando on Tuesday that his plan was to watch the bowl game with White.
