Raynesha Lewis led a Nebraska sweep of the top four spots in the women's long jump to highlight a standout day by the Husker jumpers on Friday's opening day of the Graduate Classic at the Devaney Sports Center.

Lewis won with a leap of 19 feet, 1¼ inches, followed by Shylia Riley (18-11¼) in second, Ieva Turke (18-5¼) in third and Angela Mercurio (17-9¾) in fourth.

The Husker men went 1-2 in their portion of the long jump. Isaiah Griffith won with a mark of 24-7¾ and Mike Mitchell was second at 23-11½.

The Husker women runners also had a standout day. Ashleigh Carr won the 800 meters, Emma Bresser won the 1,000 and Judi Jones won the mile run, with Lincoln Southeast graduate Elsa Forsberg second.

The Husker men added two more event wins from Ty Moss (800) and Lincoln North Star graduate Mohammed Moujtaba (1,000).

The meet concludes Saturday, starting at noon, with the first running finals set for 1 p.m.
