Nebraska and Iowa stayed within three points of each other throughout the men's gymnastics dual Saturday, but in the end, the No. 8 Hawkeyes earned a 427.50-425.00 win against No. 10 Nebraska in Iowa City, Iowa.
NU opened the meet on the pommel horse and had a tough night, as Eric Schryver's 14.6 score was the best the Huskers could manage.
Floor exercise gave Nebraska hope, as Louis Klein, Mark Ringle and Grant Perdue each scored above 15.0. Klein won with a 15.2.
Nebraska finished out the first half of the meet on vault. Klein was second with a 14.70, while Perdue tied for third.
In the fifth rotation, the high bar, Nebraska's struggles returned. Connor Stillwell opened the event with a 12.15 after an early fall. Klein had trouble keeping his momentum in the middle of his routine and finished with just a 12.75.
Nebraska freshman Sammy Chamberlain came out in the final rotation, the parallel bars, and earned a 14.85, good enough for second.
NU had just one competitor in the all-around, C.J. Schaaf, who finished second with an 83.6 score.
