Notable losses:

Rex Burkhead, RB -- Finished Nebraska career with 3,329 rushing yards, fifth on the school's career rushing list.

Tim Marlowe, WR -- Tough, heady receiver whose leadership will be missed.

Kyler Reed, TE -- His 67 receptions are second-most in school history for his position.

Ben Cotton, TE -- Had 18 receptions for 239 yards in final season. Excellent all-around player and leader.

Seung Hoon Choi, G -- Started every game this season.

Justin Jackson, C -- Emerged as starter during preseason camp and started all 12 regular-season games before injuring his leg and ankle against Iowa.

Brett Maher, P/PK -- Season scoring total of 119 points established school record for a kicker, topping Kris Brown's 116 in 1997.

Up-and-comers to watch

Tommy Armstrong, QB -- True dual-threat quarterback likely will be in position to battle Ron Kellogg III for backup job.

Sam Cotton, TE -- The 6-foot-4, 230-pound freshman could move into prominent role very quickly.

Andy Janovich, FB -- Shows potential to be a versatile fullback.

Ryne Reeves, G -- A redshirt freshman from Crete, Reeves was pushing for playing time at guard at the end of this season.

Jake Cotton, G -- The sophomore entered the picture at guard late in the season and saw playing time in bowl.

Alonzo Moore, WR -- Has impressed coaches as freshman with his dynamic athleticism. Could play variety of roles.

Jordan Westerkamp, WR -- Another freshman who will fight for playing time in receiving corps next season.
