A former Husker football player spent the night in jail Monday after Lincoln police arrested him on suspicion of domestic assault.

Jermarcus "Yoshi" Hardrick, 22, pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor in court Tuesday and posted a $2,500 percentage bond.

Officer Katie Flood said police arrested him shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday for what started with a verbal argument between Hardrick and a 20-year-old woman, who was throwing his property out a second floor window.

She told police Hardrick grabbed her by the back of the neck and threw her across the room, leaving her with two scrapes on her back.

The native of Batesville, Miss., was part of the Husker program during the past two seasons, starting all 13 games at left tackle on the offensive line in 2011.
