A member of Nebraska's three-time state wrestling champions club is returning to the state where he had high school success.
Friend graduate Zemua Baptista announced Sunday via Twitter that he will transfer from Iowa State to Nebraska starting this fall.
"There was a lot that went in to this decision, right now my future and what is important to me lies close to home," Baptista posted to Twitter on Sunday morning. "The connections, friend, and coaches/teammates I call my 'family' will last me a life time, and I wouldn't have had it any other way."
Baptista went 184-4 during his high school career with four state finals appearances and three Class D titles (2014-16). He redshirted this past season at Iowa State and compiled a 16-9 record in unattached action.
Nebraska has yet to officially announce the transfer, as Baptista would presumably join spring signing period additions Colton Wolfe (Columbus) and Dylan Gowin (Shawnee, Kansas) in the Huskers' 2017 class.
