Outlook: Fry and Kinnaman are transfers from Southeast, and will provide an immediate impact. Fry won a state title at 132 pounds and Kinnaman took third place at 126. Mayfield is back, too, after a breakout freshman season that resulted in a runner-up finish at state at 113.

Christian

Outlook: The upper weights will play a key role in the Crusaders having a solid year. Nathaniel Wegrzyn is making a run at 100 career wins, and Caneva returns after reaching the state tournament last season as a junior.

Lincoln High

Coach: Andy Genrich.

Returning letterwinners: Plat Plot Soe, so.; Jackson Okereke, so.; Isaiah Alford, jr.; Marcel Austin, jr. Newcomers: Korbin Arnold, DJ Okereke, Say Lah Poe, Quinn Thew, Caleb Duncan, Camden Trevarrow, Abel Beurientus, Garrett Hoagland, Drake Krough.

Outlook: Alford will lead the Links this season, and Genrich said he expects big things out of his team as long as they can stay healthy.

Lutheran

Coaches: Patrick Dempsey, Jerry Welch and Joel Brase.

Returning letterwinners: Jake Wendland, sr.; Joe Admiraal sr; Ethan Rickords sr.; Tommy Nabity, jr.; Dalton Paxton, so. Newcomers: Sasha Langewisch, jr.; Matthew Irwin, jr.; Adler Rickords, jr.; Chris Woerth, fr.

Outlook: Wendland and Admiraal lead a young group, and Ethan Rickords returns after he was hurt much of last season.

North Star

Coach: Jake Froscheiser.

Outlook: North Star will lean on its depth for most of this season, while also adding some new faces in Waller and Hernandez. Hernandez finished sixth at state in Class B last year at 120 pounds.

Northeast

Coach: Patrick Neilly.

Outlook: The Rockets lost four state qualifiers from last season, including three who each had 30-plus wins. Sindel is aiming for a big season, and Mort is among the team's top wrestlers. Chayse Schaub was a state qualifier as a freshman.

Pius X

Coach: Jerry Clinch.

Returning letterwinners: Isaac Feltes, sr.; Steven Kerr, sr.; Nicolas McCarthy, jr.; Matt Bruns, jr.; Michael Cisneros, jr.; Jacob Reiber, so.; Jayden Schriner, so. Newcomers: Zane Faust, fr.; Ryan Mazour, fr.

Outlook: The young Thunderbolts must replace a solid group of seniors, including Joshua Guerra, who finished third at state last season, and Austin Miller, who placed fourth. Schriner and Kerr return after reaching state.

Southwest

Coach: Aaron Finley.

Returning letterwinners: Jaxon Morrow, so.; Jordan Pulver, jr.; Zach Bennetts, sr.; Jake Oltman, sr.; Chayton Koch, so.; Jack Spahn, jr.; Ethan Carstens, so.; Barrett Muehling, sr.; Jarrett Myers, sr. Newcomers: Caden Boesiger, sr.; Markell Jackson, sr.; Brody Wojtasek, fr.; Chase Charroin, fr.; Eli Rhodes, fr.

Outlook: Southwest finished eighth at the state meet last year, and Finley said his team will lean on a strong group of seniors, led by Oltman and Myers. Myers finished sixth at 195 pounds at state last season.

Southeast

Coach: Zach Schnell.

Returning letterwinners: Preston Gallegos, sr.; Quinn Reis, sr.; Cody Kirby, sr.; Arman Erickson, jr.; Braxton Betancur, jr.; Mason Miller, jr. Newcomers: Dawson Effle, sr.; Taye Hill, fr.

Outlook: The Knights lost some key state qualifiers from last year's team, so a young core is in place. Kirby and Erickson each qualified for state last season.
