Lincoln Pius X rallied to force a fourth set, but couldn't push No. 4 Papillion-La Vista South to the brink Thursday in a 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 25-18 loss in Papillion.

Delaney Humm led the No. 6 Thunderbolts with 24 kills, Grace Gokie dished out 52 set assists and Lindsay Nottlemann came up defensively with 25 digs.

"Anna McLain and Morgan Christiansen played with confidence in the middle and the team played very well and came together," Pius X coach Katie Wenz said. "They played tough in the fourth set, but the ball just hit the ground more often for them."

The Titans (24-8) avenged a September loss to Pius X at the Lincoln Northeast Invitational.

The Thunderbolts (20-10) have a week off before hosting Lincoln Northeast on next Thursday.
