Lincoln Southwest graduate and future University of California swimmer Dannie Dilsaver of the Greater Nebraska Swim Team took first place in the women's 400-meter individual medley and second in the 200 freestyle during Thursday's session of the Lincoln Sectional swimming competition at Woods Pool.

Dilsaver won the medley in 4 minutes, 56.05 seconds. Nebraska senior Jordan Ehly was third.

Lincoln Pius X's Caroline Thiel added a second in the 100 butterfly, with Nebraska junior Dana Posthuma third.

Alana Palmer, current Southwest Silver Hawk and future Wisconsin Badger, took the 200 freestyle crown for Lincoln Select Swimming, edging Dilsaver by 0.09 seconds.

The Club Huskers 400 freestyle relay team of Carla Gonzalez, Lindsay Helferich, Katarina Sickle and Kaylyn Flatt won with a time of 3:53.92, with the Greater Nebraska Swim team taking second.

The four men's events were dominated by Empire KC Swim Club, including a 1-2-3 finish in the 400 medley for the Missouri-based team.

The sectional championships, which feature many of the region's top high school and college swimmers, continue through Saturday. Friday's prelims will begin at 9 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m. Saturday's finals will begin at 5 p.m.
