Alex Gordon

Alex Gordon, pictured in 2001, stood out early on the field for Lincoln Southeast High School. His athletic gifts have made him a franchise player for the Kansas City Royals. 

Lincoln Southeast graduate, former Husker baseball standout and current Kansas City Royals outfielder and 2015 World Series champion Alex Gordon leads the 2018 Lincoln Southeast Athletic Hall of Fame class.

The full class includes athletes Kylie (Fisher) Dobbs, 2002; Gordon, 2002; Dana (Tegt) Liley, 2001; Brandon Rigoni, 2002; Jeff Salem, 2001; Sarah (Otte) Salem, 2001; Dane Todd, 2002; along with coaches Bill Flory (retired head girls and boys swimming and diving), Doug Miller (retired head baseball), Jeff Smith (retired head boys basketball and head boys golf), contributor Julie Buck (retired head athletic trainer) and the 1992 Class A state championship girls and boys cross country teams, coached by Ted Larson.

The 2018 class will be inducted Jan. 18 at the Great Hall in the Lincoln Train Station, with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. and meal at 6:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Lincoln Southeast athletic office or by calling 402-436-1359. The inductees will also be introduced at halftime of the Lincoln Southeast vs. Omaha Bryan boys basketball game Jan. 19.
