Class A championship: Omaha North v. Bellevue West, 11/21

Michael Huffman, Bellevue West: Led the Thunderbirds to their first state football championship game, which resulted in the school's first state football title. Behind a huge game from Jaylin Brady, Bellevue West topped Omaha North 43-6.

Tom Beck, Creighton Prep: The Junior Jays continued their dominance in the pool, winning their 11th straight state swimming and diving championship.

Doug Denson, Millard South: Ended his coaching career on top, leading the Patriots to their third straight Class A state wrestling title, and seventh during his tenure at the school. Denson retired from coaching and teaching after 24 years at Millard South.

Brad Feeken, Gretna: The Dragons captured a second straight Class B state title in boys basketball, edging Scottsbluff 55-53. Gretna is 54-3 during that stretch.

Mike Weiss, Bishop Neumann: Weiss led the Cavaliers to a second straight Class C-1 state title in basketball. Neumann capped the season with an 80-57 win against crosstown rival Wahoo, and did so in an ultra-competitive class race.
