Nebraska junior I-back Marlon Lucky and senior tackle Carl Nicks were chosen to the All-Big 12 second team, announced by the league on Tuesday.
No Huskers were named to the first team.
Ten NU players — defensive backs Larry Asante and Cortney Grixby, linebackers Bo Ruud and Steve Octavien, offensive linemen Brett Byford, Jacob Hickman and Lydon Murtha, wide receiver Maurice Purify, defensive end Zach Potter and punter Dan Titchener — were listed for honorable mention.
Missouri, ranked No. 1 in the AP poll, and North runner-up Kansas dominated the league’s awards.
Tigers QB Chase Daniel was offensive player of the year; receiver Jeremy Maclin shared the offensive freshman of the year honor with Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree; and MU’s Adam Spieker shared the offensive lineman of the year honor with Cody Wallace of Texas A&M.
Kansas’ Mark Mangino was chosen the coach of the year, while Jayhawk players James McClintock (defensive lineman) and Marcus Herford (special teams) earned individual awards.
Colorado’s Jordon Dizon, a finalist for the Butkus Award, was the league defensive player of the year.
Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was the defensive freshman of the year.
Kansas State receiver Deon Murphy (offensive) and defensive back Gary Chandler (defensive) swept the newcomer honors.
Oklahoma led the league with six of the 29 first-team players, while Missouri had five and Kansas four.
NU, Iowa State and Baylor had no first-team selections.
