Following last week’s triumph at Kansas State, as Nebraska players trotted to the locker room, Husker cornerbacks coach Phil Elmassian stopped Grixby and gave the player a gigantic bear hug.

Elmassian obviously was pleased with Grixby’s play.  Grixby needs another strong performance today.

After struggling a month ago to cover 6-foot-5, 215-pound wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett of Southern California, Grixby and fellow Husker corner Andre Jones face another challenging task today against 6-5, 220-pound wideout Limas Sweed.

“He’s a big-bodied wide receiver who can elevate and make plays,” Nebraska coach Bill Callahan said.

Last week against Baylor, Sweed had six receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns.

“He just took off and made plays,” Callahan said. “He jumped over people’s heads and positioned his body. He has great body control in space.”

Does Grixby or Jones provide the better matchup against Sweed?

“They’re both good matchups, I think,” Callahan said. “Both will get lined up against him. But who’s to say if (Sweed) won’t be lined up in the slot. Who knows where they’re going to put him?”
