Nebraska volleyball standout Sarah Pavan added another honor to her resume Friday, being named Big 12 Conference Female Athlete of the Year.

Pavan became the first Husker athlete to win the award twice. She also won the award for the 2006-07 season. 

Pavan finished her career at Nebraska as one of the school’s most-decorated volleyball players. A right-side hitter from Kitchener, Ontario, she helped the Huskers win the 2006 NCAA title. Nebraska went 126-7 and won four straight Big 12 titles during her career. She holds the school records for career kills with 2,008 and kills per game at 4.56.

She graduated in May with a 4.0 grade-point average in biochemistry.

2007-08

* She became the fourth player named a AVCA first-team All-American four straight years.

* Volleyball Academic All-American of the Year for the second straight year.

2006-07

* She became the first Husker to receive the Honda-Broderick Cup for academic and athletic accomplishment.

* AVCA National Player of the Year.

* Academic All-American for all sports in NCAA Division I.

* Named Big 12 Player of the Year for the third consecutive season. 

* Named Volleyball Magazine’s National Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

* NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player.

2004-05

* Big 12 Freshman of the Year.

* AVCA Freshman of the Year.
