At an attorneys-only hearing Tuesday in Lancaster County Court, the hearing was set for June 23.
Maurice Purify is set to go to court in June on allegations he violated his probation and was an inmate of a disorderly house.
Purify wasn’t at the hearing Tuesday in Lancaster County Court, but his attorney, Jon Braaten, said he would be there June 23.
That’s when he is set for trial on the ticket police gave him for allegedly refusing to leave a Lincoln party and set for hearing on the alleged probation violation.
Purify is nearing the end of a yearlong probation he was sentenced to for assault, disturbing the peace and hindering arrest in May 2007 and for DUI in June 2007.
The city and county attorneys’ offices both allege he violated terms of his probation, but for different reasons.
The city prosecutor alleges the violation came March 8 when police ticketed him on suspicion of being an inmate of a disorderly house after they were called to a loud party in the 3100 block of Mickaela Lane.
The county prosecutor alleges he was seen under the influence of alcohol in California. Purify denies he was drinking. One issue attorneys are arguing is whether the state would need to bring the California officer to Nebraska.
