No. 32, 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, I-back
Jackson carried a heavy load in last week’s home win against Colorado, racking up 190 all-purpose yards.
He likely will receive his share of action again tonight. The junior from Horn Lake, Miss., apparently made it through the regular season without any injuries that might slow him in the Big 12 title game.
Meanwhile, fellow Husker I-backs Marlon Lucky (back) and Cody Glenn (foot sprain) missed practice time this week, and it’s unclear how much they’ll be able to contribute tonight. Jackson has shown he’s able to carry the brunt of the load. He finished the regular season ranked second in the league in rushing at 73.4 yards per game. In conference games alone, Jackson was third with an average of 94.4 yards. Jackson’s impressive league stats include the Kansas game, when he had just four carries for 28 yards.
Since moving into the starting lineup against Iowa State, Jackson is averaging 103.9 yards and 5.2 per carry, while scoring seven touchdowns.
Jackson capped the regular season last week with a career-high 34 carries for 142 yards and a TD. He also caught a career-high six passes for 42 yards, and his 41 all-purpose attempts established an NU single-game record.
