Lincoln outfielder Blake Gailen's contract has been purchased by the Los Angeles Angels.
Gailen, 26, who led the American Association with a .406 batting average through 69 games, will report Friday to Double-A Arkansas in the Texas League.
Undrafted out of UNLV in 2007, Gailen last season hit .387 and had 31 RBIs in 55 games with Chico, Calif., of the Golden League.
"I hit (.387 last year) and it wasn't good enough, so I've got to do better," Gailen said earlier this season of his goal to play in the big leagues.
The news was announced to fans at Haymarket Park before the ninth inning against El Paso on Wednesday, and the first-year Saltdog finished 1-for-3 in a 9-0 win. Gailen had eight home runs, 24 doubles, six triples and 46 RBIs with Lincoln this season.
