Nebraska senior first baseman Craig Corriston underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday to repair a tear of the medial meniscus in his right knee.
The injury, discovered during an MRI exam earlier this week, is not expected to be season-ending.
Corriston is hitting .323, with four homers and 28 RBIs, for the Huskers. He was replaced in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against Western Illinois by sophomore Tyler Farst, who’s hitting .179 after only 28 at-bats.
NU catcher Mitch Abeita, who’s hitting a team-high .360, is bothered by a split thumbnail, and received the day off again after sitting out Tuesday’s 6-4 win against the Leathernecks.
