Jim White, the director of golf at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course, and Mike Schuchart, longtime director of the golf academy at the course, are no longer employed by Wilderness Ridge.

Bruce Berres said the entire golf staff, except for Maureen Farrell, had been let go because of changes in the business.

White and Schuchart, both former PGA teachers of the year and PGA players of the year in Nebraska, said they hope to start an academy elsewhere.

Berres said a nationwide search for a PGA pro at the south Lincoln course will begin immediately.

"They have terminated our positions and said they want to talk about the future of the golf academy there, with a lease possibility," White said.

Berres said there may be negotiations for White and Schuchart to lease the golf academy from Wilderness Ridge. But neither White nor Schuchart would confirm whether any negotiations had started.
