Ohio State vs. Nebraska, 10/14/17

Amongst the grim faces watching the conclusion of Nebraska's 56-14 loss to Ohio State, a lone fan (lower left) leaps to her feet and smiles as the Wave briefly makes its way around the South Stadium bleachers during the fourth quarter on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Memorial Stadium.

I’m just going to come right out and say it: Nebraska has no business being in the Big Ten Conference. Saturday's game proved just that. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m tired of always watching us lose to Wisconsin.

Nebraska left the Big 12 because they were tired of always losing to Texas and putting up with their BS. I get that. But, now, here we are in the Big Ten, always losing to Wisconsin. It’s like we traded one evil for another.

Looking back, I’m beginning to wish we had never left the Big 12. Now I know what you’re thinking: We should go back to the Big 12 and always lose to Texas again? Well, at least when Nebraska was losing to Texas, our title hopes always didn’t die with that loss. I know that infamous 1-second-left moment is still fresh in a lot of folks’ minds, and they’re still irked about that.

But in the Big Ten, losing to Wisconsin means our conference title hopes die right then and there. Are we supposed to stay in the Big Ten, lose to Wisconsin and watch them play in the championship game every year? Come on! That is completely, 100 percent unacceptable!

It’s time we stop kidding ourselves and face reality. Nebraska should just leave the Big Ten. As long as we’re in it, there is no hope of ever regaining our former glory.
