Something broken? If it's furniture, small machines or appliances, or clothing, bring it to us and we'll do our best to fix it. We can also sharpen scissors. Yes, we fix stuff, and we are pretty good at it.

The Lincoln Repair Cafe will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 17) at The Commons, 1239 S. 14th St (northwest of the 14th and B streets intersection).

You can keep that keepsake longer. By getting it fixed, you'll reduce what goes into the landfill. That favorite chair, pillow, lamp getting worn? Bring it, and we might work some magic.

Sit and stay awhile, and enjoy some home-baked refreshments. Donations are welcome but optional. Feel free to "pay it forward " instead -- we'd love that.

Got skills? Drop by and let us know what they are. We're looking for someone who enjoys fixing jewelry.
