The Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company announces noted choreographer Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye, recently retired from the Kansas City Ballet, will teach Apprentice and Company dancers at this summer's Get on Pointe! Master Series at True Dance Studio, 5445 Red Rock Lane.
Nye had an illustrious dance career and is now focusing on his choreography, having created ballets for Ballet Idaho, Kansas City Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, and the Kansas City Dance Festival. He has also had his work performed by dancers from companies all across the U.S. and Europe, including, Alberta Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Kansas City Ballet and the Finnish National Ballet. He was named “Outstanding Choreographer” at the 2017 Youth American Grand Prix.
LMBC also announces Madeline Stein will teach the ages 9 to 11 dancers at the camp, scheduled July 31-Aug. 4. Stein trained at The Rock School for Dance Education and has danced with The North Carolina Dance Theatre, The Pennsylvania Ballet and Minnesota Dance Theatre, as well as with Ballet NY, Avi Scher & Dancers, and New Chamber Ballet in New York City.
She was on faculty at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, and The Studio New Canaan in Connecticut, as well as Minnesota Dance Theatre & School in Minneapolis. From 2012-2017 she was the head ballet instructor at Dance By Kris in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
LMBC's summer dance experience will focus on ballet and pointe training in preparation for "The Nutcracker" auditions Sept. 30. Registration information is on the LMBC website at lincolnmidwestballet.org
