A family tradition continues Sunday morning when the Munguia/Macias family offers free movie passes and requires Food Bank donations in exchange.
“Grinch Fest” features free showings Dec. 10 of “Home Alone” and “Elf” at the Marcus Lincoln Grand Cinema, 1101 P St. Show times are 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., with each movie to be shown beginning at both 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Admission is free with the good-will donation of at least four non-perishable food items per person. (Additional donations are encouraged.) All donations will benefit the Food Bank of Lincoln.
Special guests will be Santa, Mrs. Claus, The Grinch, and many more. A photographer will capture the event by taking each child’s picture with Santa free of charge. All pictures will be available for download after the event at www.facebook/com/GrinchFest.
“Make sure to ‘like/share’ our page, and visit for additional information and updates,” said spokeswoman Teresa Macias. “This is a family-friendly outing, and we ask that an adult is with all children … no drop-offs, please,” she said.
There is a limited number of seats (500 per showing) and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to limited seating availability, the hosts ask attendees to refrain from placing coats or baby carriers on empty seats.
“We want as many people as possible to enjoy this family-fun event,” said Macias.
