Dodging for SCOUTreach, a dodgeball tournament to help the Cornhusker Council of the Boy Scouts of America, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21 at Spikes Beach Bar & Grille, 2300 Judson St.
The first fundraiser of its kind, the tournament is an 18-and-over event with three divisions and a 30-team limit, with 6-to-8 players per team.
Proceeds will benefit local youth in the ScoutREACH program. The goal is to provide Scouting and camp experiences for 300 inner city and underserved youth who may not typically have the chance to participate in Scouting activities, summer camps, or in character-building activities.
Entry fee is $300 per team. Each team is guaranteed four games, with a round-robin format to determine seeding for a single-elimination tournament. Each paid participant gets a tournament T-shirt, drink voucher ($5), and each team receives a large pizza.
Sponsorship opportunities range from $300 (individual team sponsor) to $2,500 (title sponsorship level).
The top three teams get awards sponsored by Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers:
1st place – Chicken Finger Tailgate with Cane’s sauce, 8 toast, 8 coleslaw, 2 jugs of lemonade or sweet tea, and a Cane’s T-shirt
2nd place – T-shirt and a box combo card for each player, to be redeemed at any Raising Cane’s restaurant
3rd place – T-shirt and a free lemonade card for each player.
