In 2015 the rain came down so hard the pond by the ninth hole overflowed and the event was postponed. Last year it appeared the Lincoln Senior Men's Golf League Fun Day was headed for the same fate since a hard rain was falling, but the rains subsided and the clouds made it a wonderful day to enjoy one of the seniors' favorite courses. However, 2017 brought brilliant sunshine, fantastic temps, and a course in great condition with fast greens and challenging pin placements.

There were 32 four-man teams in three flights with 11 in both A and B, and 10 in C. The gold tees were a good choice, and with some tough pin placements scores were a bit higher than last year. Pin prizes were awarded on #9 for the longest putt and #18 for closest to the pin on the second shot, and those were won by Mike Gerhart and Denny Lacquement, respectively. 

The winners at Yankee Hill:

Flight A: first-Score 61-Terry Smith, D.R. Correll, Dick Evans and Bob Rauner; second-Score 63-Mike Stefkovich, Jim Martin, Andy Anderson and Paul Young; third-Score 64- John Eggerss, Larry Younger, Bill Westlund and Virgil Berney.

Flight B: first-Score 62-Mike McCrory, Gary Jones, John Clyne and G.T. Griess; second-Score 63-Bill Allen, Denny Quick, Loy Forster and Craig Beach; third-Score 65-Tom Gould, Greg Bauer, Dewey Zerr and Dave Ankenman.

Flight C: first-Score 67-Bill Nelson, Duane Stokebrand, Glen Schmieding and Don Jones; second-Score 68-Craig Hahn, Jim Augustyn, Virgil Horne and Mike Dalton; third-Score 68-Todd Wirth, Paul Haith, Stan Dinges and Bruce Cue.
