Alan Juhnke is the new executive director of the Nebraska Pork Producers Association.
Juhnke of Willmar, Minnesota, fills the vacancy created by Larry Sitzman, who retired. Juhnke takes over in January.
The selection was made after a national search.
“Al will bring leadership and creativity to the association," Scott Spilker, NPPA President, said. "He has an extensive public and private agriculture background and is experienced in public policy.”
Junke has served as agriculture, energy and environmental adviser to Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn. Prior to joining Franken’s staff, Juhnke served in the Minnesota House of Representatives for 14 years.
Nebraska Pork Producers Association is a grassroots nonprofit organization established in 1961 to promote the pork industry through the enhancement of consumer demand, producer education and research.
