OMAHA — Omaha police are investigating two separate shootings less than two hours apart in north Omaha that left two men dead.

Police say the first shooting occurred around 2:30 p.m. Friday at 18th and Manderson streets, about half a mile east of Carter Lake. Officers called to the area found 37-year-old James Moss Jr. dead at the scene.

Around 3:45 p.m. Friday, officers again responded to reports a shooting at 31st Street and Paxton Boulevard, about a mile west of the previous shooting. Police found 15-year-old Tyler Hickerson with a gunshot wound. The teen was taken by ambulance to an Omaha hospital, where he died.
