Patricia Krontz of Homer buys Powerball tickets every week.

On Saturday, she bought a quick pick ticket at J & J’s Pronto, 108 North U.S. 77 in Homer, and on Monday, she claimed her $1 million prize at Nebraska Lottery headquarters in Lincoln.

Krontz said a friend told her a winning ticket had been sold in Homer.

"So I went back to the store and checked them. I couldn’t believe that I’d won.”

She plans to pay bills using her winnings.

The odds of winning $1 million playing Powerball are 1 in 5,153,633, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 31.8. Nine Nebraska Lottery players have won the $1 million prize in Powerball since the game was modified Jan. 15, 2012.
