PIERCE -- Authorities say a human body found by deer hunters in northeast Nebraska over the weekend is that of a missing Norfolk woman.
A news release from Pierce County Attorney Verlyn Luebbe says an autopsy conducted Monday confirmed the body was that of 19-year-old Lacey Anderson.
Luebbe has refused to publicly release information about the body, other than it was found by deer hunters late Saturday morning.
Anderson has been missing since Aug. 23.
Court documents say Anderson was a witness in several criminal cases and had provided information to police investigators.
She also faced felony charges involving a drive-by shooting.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate.
