OMAHA -- The chief county prosecutor says a 15-year-old boy who shot at an Omaha police officer during a traffic stop will be charged as an adult, accused of attempted second-degree murder.

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said Wednesday that Cameron Williams of Bellevue also will be charged with use of a firearm, possession of marijuana for sale and another drug-possession count.

Police say Williams fired twice at Officer Josiah Warren before Warren fired back five times, hitting Williams in the chest.

Police say Williams was in a car that was stopped near Interstate 80 in south-central Omaha Friday afternoon for having expired plates. Williams ran from the car, then opened fire.

Two Omaha men who also were in the car were arrested on marijuana charges.
