Lancaster County property owners can sign up to get email reminders of important tax dates.
The system is voluntary and property owners must sign up to receive electronic notifications, according to a release from the Lancaster County Treasurer's Office. Property owners can providing their email address at Lancaster.ne.gov/treasurer.
Tax bills and notices will also continue to be sent via regular mail to all property owners.
“We understand that life can be hectic at times and we are hoping that this service will help citizens with timely payments of their property taxes” Treasurer Andy Stebbing said.
Stebbing also noted 2017 tax statements will be mailed the first week of December and taxes may be paid starting Dec. 1.
“If you do not receive your statement, please call our office for a copy or visit our website to view or print your tax statement,” he said.
