I read about this funny hat, scarf, monk's cowl combo today -- the snood.

It's a bit like a balaclava (which is a fancy name for ski mask), but it is looser fitting and doesn't cover the cheeks. I can't say I care for it. It doesn't seem practical. It wouldn't keep your ears warm. And it wouldn't really keep your neck warm.

I'm keeping my hats (just cleaned out my hall closets, 12 winter caps)! and my warm scarves (six)! Anyway, I have a balaclava, too. It's not fashionable, but it works.
