Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra has canceled its March concert, "Stand by Me," because of scheduling conflicts with its guest artist, composer Mike Stoller.
"With the short time frame, it's not feasible for us to put together a comparable program," LSO music director Edward Polochick said. "We felt it best to wait until we could offer an exciting, high-caliber program to our pops audience next season."
Stoller is one-half of the famed songwriting team, Lieber and Stoller. The duo, members of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, penned many hits, including including Houng Dog, Kansas City, Yakety Yak, Jailhouse Rock and Stand By Me.
