In response to the wildfires and drought plaguing the state, the Nebraska United Methodist Conference has set up a donation fund to aid fire- and drought-relief efforts.

The money will be distributed on a regional basis according to need. The application process is intended to help people and groups in the effort to battle the fires and manage the results of an extended drought that is expected to continue into the fall.

Tax-deductible donations may be made at www.umcneb.org/DroughtandFireGive. Checks can be made payable to Nebraska Annual Conference, with No. 768 Nebraska Fire/Drought Relief 2012 on the memo line, and delivered to any United Methodist church or mailed to the Nebraska Conference Center, 3333 Landmark Circle, Lincoln, NE 68504.

One-hundred percent of all donations go toward relief efforts.

People in need of assistance can apply for funds at www.umcneb.org/DroughtandFireAPP. You need not be a member of a United Methodist church to apply.
