To mark the 30th anniversary of the Cornhusker State Games, the event's opening ceremonies will move inside to the Pinnacle Bank Arena this summer.
The ceremony will mark the opening of the annual event on July 18. Competition will continue through July 27. Event organizers expect more than 13,000 people to participate.
Traditionally, the opening ceremonies have been staged at Seacrest Field.
The Cornhusker State Games feature competition in more than 60 sports taking place at venues in the Lincoln and Omaha areas. For the first time, residents of North Dakota and South Dakota will be eligible to compete in the games, because the Dakotas don't have state games of their own.
