Nguyen Market, 648 N. 27th St. Two employees with expired permits or permits that cannot be verified. Employee cleaning raw meat area, servicing raw meat area failed to wash hands prior to helping at cash register, repeat, corrected. Raw meat items stored over ready-to-eat items in walk-in. Stuffed rice cakes sitting out at register without temperature control, product discarded, corrected. Dented can of mushrooms on retail display case, discarded, corrected. Knives with residues in dirty container. Pork rolls and shredded pork meat missing labels with date marks, repeat. Numerous roaches at various stages in meat cutting area. Some items lacking safe handling instructions, repeat.
Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits, 741 N. 48th St. Complaint. Facility was allowed to re-open on Sept. 27 after being suspended on Sept. 25.
Vina Market I, 611 N. 27th St. #4. Complaint. Complaint received that food being stored at room temp and being produced in unlicensed facility, rice and mung cakes made at manager's home, facility does not have place for production or proper permit, products removed, corrected. Rice and mung bean cake and cut jackfruit stored at room temp, products removed, corrected.
DO RY BBQ, 832 N. 27th St. #A. Establishment remains closed at this time.
Subway #7028, 3900 Old Cheney Road. Establishment allowed to reopen on Oct. 3.
Sonic Drive-In, 4001 N. 27th St. Several employees without food handler permits. Not all employees included on roster (repeat), updated during inspection, corrected. Employee observed washing hands for less than 20 seconds. Milk at unsafe temp in reach-in cooler, milk discarded. Slicers and choppers with excessive food residues, appeared to have been put back without cleaning; cup holders dusty.
