A man died Saturday morning after jumping from the top floor of the Que Place Parking Facility at 1111 Q St.

Lincoln Police Chief Tom Casady said 22-year-old Caleb Murfield jumped into the alley behind the building just after 4 a.m.

An employee at the garage called police. Murfield was pronounced dead at the scene.

Spencer Hall, a friend of Murfield’s, said he found out about the death Saturday morning.

Hall said he never would have expected it. “Good guy,” he said. “Nothing seemed to be wrong.”

Sgt. Geoffrey Marti said there was no mention of drugs or alcohol in incident reports. An autopsy will likely be conducted.

“There was a surveillance video of what I believe was probably the act itself,” Marti said. “It was apparent that (Murfield) was alone.”
