A judge ruled Friday that 20-year-old Matthew Fox, accused of killing his mother with an ax, continues to be incompetent to stand trial.
A report from Fox's doctor at the Lincoln Regional Center said while Fox is incompetent to stand trial now, his competence may be restored at some point.
Deputy Lancaster County Attorney Andy Jacobsen had no objection to the report.
Lancaster County District Judge Robert Otte set a review hearing for May 10.
Fox was arrested Oct. 25, 2008, outside his mother's home at 2519 E St., where he lived in the unfinished basement. Inside, police found Sherry Fox dead on the basement floor. She had a large cut in the middle of her forehead.
Police found a bloody ax near her body and a club with a metal end, which also appeared to have blood on it.
