A Lancaster County woman was one of two people who died when a car in the wrong lane struck a motorcyle Friday evening.

Alexis Calfee, 19, of Bennet, was the passenger on a motorcyle driven by Christopher Oberg, 20, the Dixon County Sheriff said in a news release.

Oberg, of Mapleton, Iowa, was driving west on Nebraska 9 near Emerson just before 6:30 p.m. when he swerved to miss a Pontiac Grand Am driving in the wrong lane.

Both Calfee and Oberg died at the scene.

Calfee's public Facebook profile shows that she studied elementary education at Wayne State College. Her profile said she graduated from Palmyra High School in 2010.

The Pontiac driver -- Rober Mahler, 55, of Hubbard -- was flown to an Iowa hospital.
