There’s no going back now for Nebraska: The pioneer family rolling past Chimney Rock is now stamped onto the latest batch of commemorative quarters.

Expect to see them in your change in late April or early May.

“They get lost behind car seats and never get found again, things like that,” said Mint spokesman Michael White.

Release parties planned

Three parties will celebrate the launch of the new quarter April 7: 

* 9:45 a.m., Bob Devaney Sports Center, Lincoln

* 12:15 p.m., Foster Field, University of Nebraska at Kearney 

* 1:30 p.m., Five Rocks Ampitheatre, Gering.

New quarters will be given free to children 18 and younger at all three events.
