David Lee Walters, 56, of Lincoln was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years and seven months in federal prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in eastern Nebraska.

Walters pleaded to the charge in January and was sentenced by U.S. Senior District Judge Warren Urbom.

U.S. Attorney Joe Stecher said Lincoln police found a small amount of meth and scales after they stopped Walters' vehicle July 14, 2008. The investigation that followed led to the discovery of a number of people involved with Walters in buying and selling meth.
