A 36-year-old restaurant manager was arrested at his home Thursday on suspicion of making unauthorized cash withdrawals totaling $25,036.35 from J & J Pizza Pub in Hallam.
An accountant for the restaurant reported the embezzlement July 2, said Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner. The business is a subsidiary of 89 Inc., owned by former state Sen. John DeCamp.
When deputies arrived at the home of Jeremy John Devries, 1830 S. 48th St. in Lincoln, he locked himself inside, Wagner said. He eventually surrendered and was jailed on suspicion of felony theft by deception.
