The Doane College community and Crete-area residents can learn "How Nebraska Serves the Working Poor or Homeless" during a panel discussion Oct. 29 with representatives of five area agencies.

The discussion begins at 7 p.m. in Heckman Auditorium and includes representatives of Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach, the Friendship Home, Food Bank of Lincoln, Clinic With A Heart and Nebraska Appleseed.

Audience members will learn about Nebraska's working poor and how the recession is affecting the agencies that serve them.

The event is free and open to the public.
